Friday Fill In: Oh, Weekend! How I Love Thee!

1. Once I was finished managing the last crisis of the day at the office, I was more than ready to go home and start the weekend.
2. I am tired of being sick.
3. Today at work I definitely earned my paycheck--and then some.
4. What's up with her hair? Do you think she's knows it got blown all about?
5. If I make a mistake, I admit I am wrong and try and fix it.
6. When I woke up this morning, I thought immediately of my last blog entry and wondered if I should change the wording on one of my 7 Oddball things least it be misunderstood. I still had twenty minutes left before my alarm went off but was unable to fall back asleep because I kept worrying about that post.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to curling up on the couch with a mug of hot chocolate, watching a movie while cuddled up with the dog and cat, and waiting for my darling husband to call to say he arrived safely at his destination; tomorrow my plans include pruning my TBR collection and doing some much needed house cleaning; and Sunday, I want to spend the day reading in between loads of laundry and enjoy the evening with my husband!

  1. I've decided I'm really sick. There's nothing I want to read, nothing I want to watch, and I'm not sleepy. Help!

  3. It certainly sounds like you're ready for the weekend! Hope you get in some recuperating time before your husband gets back.

  4. Lots of people seem to be sick at the moment. Not good. Get well soon!

I'm waiting patiently for you to read The Book Thief so I can read what you think of it.

  5. Sounds like the weekend couldn't come soon enough for you! Hope it's a relaxing one.
#6 made me laugh. I do that sometimes. Shut off the computer, go to bed, then think I should've said something differently..
So what movie did you watch?

  6. Oh, no, Janet! That's the worst kind of sick. Feel better soon!

Amy - Thank you. I hope your feeling back to normal soon too!

Florinda - Yes, I am most definitely ready for the weekend. I just wish it was one of my long ones . . .

Julie - Thank you. I really need to read The Book Thief! I don't think I'm going to read it by the end of the Unread Authors Challenge like I planned, but I will read it this year at least.

Tanabata - The week was a long one, let me tell you!

Once I get it into my head I made a typo or should have said something else, it's impossible to go back to sleep--or to sleep at all until I check on it. I hate that.

I didn't end up watching a movie. I flipped through the channels and settled for some comic week review show, which actually wasn't very good. I'm about to head to bed and read as soon as I get off the computer. I think the animals are about ready to call it a night.

  7. Wendy, I hope you feel better soon!

I grinned while reading your #6 because that sounds like me, hehe... Hope you have a great weekend! :)

  8. I really earned my paycheck yesterday, too. Don't you just hate those Fridays when they really make you work yourself to death just to have the relief of the weekend? My job includes a lot of transporting important stuff on foot between buildings starting very early in the morning and yesterday it snowed and sleeted and poured rain all day long soaking me and all my important stuff. What a drag!

Hope you start feeling better soon and that work treats you better next week!

  11. The sick bugs must be able to jump through computers because everyone seems to be getting sick! Hope you get better soon!

  12. Oh Wendy, I'm down with the flu bug... I hope you're well soon. That's another great "Friday Fill In".

When I make mistake, I too readily admit I am wrong, learn from it and try fix it. Coincidentally, I read a lot of that in Khoo Swee Chiow's book Journeys to the Ends of the Earth which I've finished today while nursing my sick self.

    Get well soon!

  13. Oh, get well soon!

I've been low energy, but I think it's the lack of light. I used to laugh at the idea of Seasonal Affective Disorder but who is laughing now?

But no football today? I guess I'm showing my New England bias!

  14. Melody - Thank you. I had a sneezing fit this morning and counted 12 sneezes in a row. The cat and dog were just staring at me, waiting for my head to come flying off, I think. Haha

Megan - Thank you! Maybe that's why Fridays are so hectic where I work--so I appreciate the weekend even more. :-) It sounds like you definitely get your exercise at work! Terrible though that you have to be out and about in those weather conditions.

Nikki - The price of being a hard worker. :-) Thanks!

Jaimie - Thank you. I haven't gotten much reading done this weekend, like I planned, unfortunately. That's mostly my fault though because I've been doing other things.

Jen - Thanks! It's definitely going around, isn't it?

Alice - Get better soon, Alice! At least you were able to get in extra reading as a result!

Clea - Season Affective Disorder does seem to be more common these days--or maybe just more often diagnosed(?). I hope the sun will come out for a little while for you.

No football here. I don't especially care for the sport and my husband isn't a fan. I hope your team wins!
