I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted by Kim of Caffeinated Book Reviewer and The Sunday Salon (TSS) hosted by Deb Nance of Readerbuzz where participants recap our week, talk about what we are reading, share any new books that have come our way, and whatever else we want to talk about. I am also linking It's Monday! What Are you Reading? hosted by Kathryn of Book Date where readers talk about what they have been, are and will be reading.
Goodness! Where did the time go? I had hoped to sit down and spend more time visiting blogs and actually prepping posts this week, but it was not meant to be. Even this weekend, I am later getting this post of up than anticipated. I hope you are all well.
Families were assigned at this past week's Nutcracker ballet rehearsals, and my husband and I are now the parents of four girls--at least for the party scene--one of which is Mouse, of course. All of us parents in the party scene got to rehearse with the entire cast this time around as well. There are still some logistics to work out, but things are coming together.
Mouse's Girl Scout troop has adopted a walking trail to keep clean as part of the city's beautification project. Today (Sunday) was Mouse's turn, along with one of her fellow Girl Scout sisters. We spent the morning on the trail, picking up litter and placing painted rocks some of the girls in the troop painted. It was hotter than anticipated being out under the sun with little shade, but it was a worthwhile endeavor. But, oh, the types of litter one finds!
This past week was my week working in the office and I admit I am glad to be working from home this coming week. I do have to go into our IT office one day this week to have software installed on my work computer but other than that will be enjoying the company of my two quiet four-legged coworkers. I think they miss me when I cannot be home with them, particularly my Gracie.
Let me know what you have been up to or have coming up this week!
I recently finished reading The Outlaw Demon Wails (The Hollows #6) by Kim Harrison. This urban fantasy series keeps getting better with each book.
What books have you finished reading recently? Are there any you would recommend?
Because Reading. It’s a fun way to choose a book from your TBR pile to read. The 1st Saturday of every month, I will list 3 books I am considering reading and take a poll as to which you think I should read. I will read the winner that month. My review will follow (unfortunately, not likely in the same month, but eventually--that's all I can promise).
Thank you to all who voted in this month's TBR List Poll! It was a close one, but in the end Liz Ireland's Mrs. Claus and the Santaland Slayings won with six (6) votes over The Christmas Dress by Courtney Cole that came in with five (5) votes and three (3) votes for A Holly Jolly Diwali by Sonya Lalli.
I started reading Mrs. Claus and the Santaland Slayings this evening and look forward to reading more.
What are you reading right now?
Depending on how the first book in the series go, I may just have to jump into the second book of the Mrs. Claus cozy mystery series, Mrs. Claus and the Halloween Homicide. So what if it's a little past the season? Although, I have to admit, Jenny Colgan's The Christmas Bookshop is sounding pretty good now. Don't count out The Christmas Dress though. That's also one I hope to get to before the month is out.
What is up next on your TBR pile?
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Happy Reading!
