My husband especially enjoys the reading older noir fiction, which encourages me to read more of it.

Nicola - You'll have to let me know what you think of the book when you read it, as well as the other two books in the omnibus.

Carrie K - Yes, that's the one. I'd like to see the movie just to compare--and because I like old movies. :-)

I try not to keep count of how many books come in for every one that goes out. Terrible, I know, but I'd probably have a heart attack. Or give my husband one. Let's just say that I rarely walk out of a bookstore with just one or two books.

Lynne - Thanks so much! I hope you have a nice one too.

Nancy - It is a fun one. I like the covers on the older ones too. :-) Have a happy Christmas also!Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-63159660826409049452007-12-22T19:38:00.000-08:002007-12-22T19:38:00.000-08:00That sounds like a fun book. It sounded so familiar, but I'm sure the book was different. They almost always are.

Out of idle curiousity, out of one TBR book off the shelves, how many get added? I was noticing a dismaying trend in my library.Carrie Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15585975894624687972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-21429160322168564042007-12-22T10:22:00.000-08:002007-12-22T10:22:00.000-08:00Good to hear about this! I've managed to catch some of those 'film noire' kinda movies and I'm constantly amazed by how they handled the lighting and staging. So much better than now, if you ask me.

This book made me think of that sort of movie.

cjhCJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07798965643027904154noreply@blogger.com
