Jeane - "Freezer worthy" means the book was scary enough to want to hide it in the freezer. It's a expression I picked up from the old television show Friends.

OK, since Wendy is on a blogging break, I'm going to come back and explain what I expect she means about "freezer worthy". Once upon a time ago, there was a TV show called Friends. In it, there was a guy called Joey and a girl called Rachel. Joey was reading a Stephen King book - might have been THE SHINING - and Rachel was reading LITTLE WOMEN. They ended up switching books and Rachel said that she was so scared with THE SHINING, she had to put it in the freezer to get away from it. Joey also ends up putting LITTLE WOMEN in the freezer because he is so traumatized fearing that Beth will die. Books go in the freezer that are too scary - for whatever reason. LOL

Is that what you mean, Wendy? I expect so. :-)

Freezer-worthy? I don't know what that means, and I've seen the movie three dozen times and read the book three or four times. You talking about the walk-in freezer or the snowstorm? Either way, I would mirror Kay and tell you to read The Stand or The Shining. The Stand is very long though, and there are other great options if you want something shorter. His short stories are awesome. Anyway, I digress. Have a great break...everyone needs one. It is good for the soul!

OK, if I could just interject a little here about your Stephen King choices - just my opinion, but...read THE SHINING or THE STAND (one of my favorite books ever in my life). I read THE DEAD ZONE and it was OK, but it's not really like the TV show (which I liked very much). Well, it is like it, but anyway...THE SHINING is crazy and scary. THE STAND is phenomenal, IMHO. OK, my opinion over. LOL

Yay, I'm so excited that you're joining The Stephen King Project! We will have some fun, that's for sure! I've wanted to read more King since the fall when I read three books and loved them all. I can't wait for the Project to get going with everyone's reviews!
