Although I prefer the books, I did like the TV show. It was just too short!

I guess I had better get around to reading Nick Hornby and Charles de Lint so I can add them to my favorites list. :-)Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-13746757139998247262008-06-07T07:15:00.000-07:002008-06-07T07:15:00.000-07:00Some interesting coices. I had ben meaning to get around to it for ages and got distracted when the TV show was released here in the UK. Love both so far and am gutted they cancelled the show :(

I have some Charlaine Harris to try this year and have read great reviews of her many series. I am glad you included Anne Rice, Anne Bishop, Tolkien and Alice Hoffman as some of your other favourite authors as I love them all! Now all I have to do is get you to add Nick Hornby and Charles de Lint and it's perfect :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-88175474773047973702008-06-06T12:19:00.000-07:002008-06-06T12:19:00.000-07:00Carrie K - I got a little impatient and decided to...Carrie K - I got a little impatient and decided to post it before being tagged. :-)

I adore Harry Dresden!

And yes, it does feel like choosing a favorite child. I almost didn't do the meme because it feels unfair somehow.

Terri - I'm quite partial to the books. The TV show was fun, but not nearly as good. I know not everyone feels that way though. I do hope you will give the series a try sometime!

The Sookie books are so much fun. I am glad you are enjoying them too.

Jen - Austen isn't for everyone even though I wish she was. ;-)

I thought about putting Laurell K. Hamilton on my list but I decided against it. I really liked her earlier books, but the later ones just haven't had the same impact on me.

I didn't discover King until I was an adult. I knew about him. Watched some of his movies, but never really thought about reading his books. I've only read two of his so far and while I know I won't read all of his books (some just don't interest me) there are several that do that I would like to read one day.

Eva - It's really hard choosing a favorite! This isn't even a complete list.

Florinda - I nearly decided not to do it but decided I might as well give it a try. It's definitely an every changing and growing list, that's for sure.

Melody - I'm not sure there is a perfect answer. What I write this week will be completely different two weeks from now, no doubt. LOL

Nymeth - You really should give Jim Butcher a try. I hope you will! And hopefully you will like your first visit with Jane Austen.

Heather - I admit that I've been working on my answers for this one since you first posted the meme. :-) I almost didn't do it. It's a great meme--I've enjoyed reading other people's answers.

Sam - I'm so glad you said something! How embarrassing! I meant to go back over my post before it automatically posted (I had it scheduled to post ahead of time), but I completely forgot.

Nan - I adored Beverly Cleary books growing up. :-)

Monica - It was really hard to answer, but it was fun.

Jaimie - You haven't read anything by Charlaine Harris? You must remedy that!Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-86924304641624771112008-06-05T08:06:00.000-07:002008-06-05T08:06:00.000-07:00Great answers! I don't think I'm able to come up with a perfect answer for each question because I have too many favourite authors in mind, and moreover there are just more new authors out there waiting for my exploration! Hamilton is definitely up there on the list (I’m not good at picking favorites since they change almost day to day). Jim Butcher is an author that I’ve heard so many good things about but I’ve never had a chance to read anything by him. Hmm... maybe I can nominate his first book for my reading group Books Into Movies since there is a TV show based on his books (which I won’t watch yet). Charliane Harris is one of my top 5 favorites too. I can’t wait to start the newest Southern Vampire mystery.

I think my first favorite author was Stephen King. I didn’t pay attention to authors when I was a kid and none of the books I read were parts of series- plus I discovered his and Anne Rice’s books at an early age.Ladytink_534https://www.blogger.com/profile/14317480621483829078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-67161220103812615772008-06-03T20:18:00.000-07:002008-06-03T20:18:00.000-07:00I've wondered about Jim Butcher's books. I stumbled across the Harry Dresden shows on SciFi channel sometime in the last year and really enjoyed them. Sounds like I should try reading them!

My husband brought home the Sookie Stackhouse books and he liked them so much I just had to see what was going on. I've read 3 so far and enjoyed them.
