They had a great kids section, movie section and music section. If we didn't feel like shopping for books there was always something to see.Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01739982274914536036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-57430835413575284782011-08-11T06:12:24.493-07:002011-08-11T06:12:24.493-07:00My heart is heavy about Borders, too. I'd spend hours browsing. I loved their poetry section because it was arranged alphabetically but also they clumped the anthologies together and that made them easy to find. B&N has them in the middle of all the other books so they weren't easy to spot. A little thing but it meant a lot to me. Now, the nearest large bookstore is forty miles away.

I feel some responsibility for Borders' demise because I own a Kindle but I still loved going into Borders.Linda Jacobshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09156972661541133665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-66197888943978024592011-08-10T18:50:57.952-07:002011-08-10T18:50:57.952-07:00I'm with you in regards to feeling bad about t...I'm with you in regards to feeling bad about the employees and those impacted by the closing and loss of more jobs. I remember going to the Borders in my town right before it closed earlier this year and those poor employees were still helpful and nice and it was just sad to see their days were numbered. I hope they got a nice severance package at least.

I totally miss Borders. I love B&N too but I used to go to Borders more often and I still miss it. I can't bring myself to go to the going-out-of-business sale. I'm grieving a bit, but it does help to know I have company.Florindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09789402061034734894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-44615819330527816872011-08-09T10:09:15.915-07:002011-08-09T10:09:15.915-07:00All we ever had here was a Borders Express and we ...All we ever had here was a Borders Express and we lost it a while ago. But I do remember when I was living in Miami, and Borders was an every week stop. I sat and read and drank coffee, and found some of the books that I never would have found anywhere else. I studied and laughed with friends there, and it was like a second home to me on the weekends. I am sad that will be gone for a lot of people.Zibileehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07443338685890187334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31552114.post-6680658481910697052011-08-09T06:38:51.372-07:002011-08-09T06:38:51.372-07:00There was a Borders right around the corner from m...There was a Borders right around the corner from me, but it closed up six months ago. It did have alot of crap (that my kids like actually) but the staff there loved their books and was always good for helping find a book or chatting. I ordered alot of books too, and because it was so close, I just picked it up at the store and saved shipping. Now we are only left with B&N. No indies in Orlando.Sandy Nawrothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00564390728106776030noreply@blogger.com
