Friday Fill In Fun

1. My blueprint for success includes getting plenty of sleep, drinking lots of water, and taking time out for oneself even when things get really hectic.
2. A candy cane was the last candy I ate.
3. The best facial moisturizer I've ever used is still out there undiscovered. I have used several different moisturizers over the years, but cannot say I like one over the other.
4. Book shopping can be good therapy.
5. I'd like to tell you about the time I lived in a tree house for a week, eating sauerkraut and hot dogs and reading nothing but old Highlights magazines, but that would be a lie and you'd see right through it.
6. My ability to tell a one liner with a straight face is my strongest characteristic.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to enjoying a late dinner with my husband and catching up on some reading; tomorrow my plans include taking in a movie and maybe doing a little blog hopping; and Sunday, I want to stay up late and relish the idea that I don't have to be at work again until Wednesday!

Anya is playing with the snake Monica sent her. It's one of her favorite toys.

Anya hasn't yet learned to jump up to each level of the tree yet, and so she does it the hard way. She's headed up to join Parker.

Anya and Parker lazing around.

  2. (Sorry if this shows up twice - I think Blogger ate my first comment!)

I love your answer to #5, and somehow I think it relates to #6...

Enjoy your LONG weekend, Wendy! I had one of those last week, but since I spent it moving, I'm sure yours will be much more enjoyable!

  3. Hi Wendy, I like #1, #4 and #6

    I also need Riley

    Have a wonderful week-end

  4. So - is the candy cane "fresh," or left over from last year?? Inquiring minds want to know ...

That last picture is the best! What a couple of sweethearts.

  5. I adore your kitty pics!!

And, on the moisturizer . . . Walmart's generic Equate version of Lubriderm moisturizer with SPF 15 is what I use and I love it. It's not greasy at all, so you can put it on under your makeup without making the makeup melt off (very nice), plus it has that added sun protection. A big old pump bottle was just $3.97, the last time I bought it.

  6. On #3 I recommend a facial moisturizer called DDF Ultra Lite Oil Free Moisturizing Dew. I get it at Sephora and while it does cost around $30, it is the only moisturizer in the world that doesn't make me breakout, and I've tried about every drugstore kind there is. It's fragrance-free and no animal testing, which is important to me.

  8. Book shopping (or library browsing) is some of the best therapy! Lol. Love the kitty pics.

  9. Awwwwww... very cute photos of your furkids, Wendy. Anya is such a big girl now. And she has long limbs too. Please say hello to both Anya and Parker for me. I'm sending them all my love...

I'm so with you on Item 1 and 4. Aaaaah... some of life's simplest joy. :D

Oh, before I forget, I hope you'll play along too in this book tag: http://www.aliceteh.com/2008/11/book-tag-seven-random-book-facts-and.html

  12. Aww - I love seeing pictures of your kitties - such cuties! And nice that they get along.

  13. Janet - It was good!

Monica - She really does like that snake. I'm really surprised my dog hasn't destroyed it, but he's kept his distance. Maybe he's learning. :-)

Florinda - I was at such a loss to #5. I typed the first thing that came to mind. I wasn't able to do any blog hopping like I planned today, but I do plan to catch up early this next week. I want to read about how the move went. :-)

Sylvie - Of course, you can take a photo of Riley, Anya and Parker to add to Oliver's friends. I've posted a few of Riley before. If it's easier, I can e-mail you a photo. Just let me know.

Bridget - LOL The candy can was fresh. I'm not really fond of stale ones, although I know they tend to be chewier.

The cats are adorable together. :-)

Nancy - Thanks! They are very photogenic. Unlike my dog. LOL

Thank you for the moisturizer recommendation!

Laura - Thank you also for the recommendation! I'm right there with you on not wanting something that's been tested on animals.

Teddy Rose - Thank you! I love giving them nuzzles so I'll have fun passing along your hugs and kisses. :-)

Jen - Book therapy is the best there is just about. :-)

Alice - Anya is growing so fast, isn't she? They send their love back at you. :-)

Thank you for the tag! I actually made a list last Sunday. It was a lot of fun!

    Maureen - Thank you!

Nymeth - There was a time when I worried they would never get along. I'm so glad they were able to work things out.

Debi - They do get along very well. Sometimes Anya will annoy Parker with her constant desire to play, but for the most part, the two get along well.

  14. Oh, they're adorable! (Keep their pics coming!)
I hope you all had a great weekend. :)

  16. why is it that all the book-lovers i know are also cat-people? :) most independent thinkers like artists, writers and philosophers gravitate towards cats. while politicians and saints prefer dogs. lol... i am by all means a cat person myself, but my partner is an unequivocal dog person. but we manager to co-exist very well :)

  17. Cat - It seems that way sometimes, doesn't it? I do know a few dog lovers who love to read though and I happen to consider myself both a dog and cat lover. I was a dog person when my husband and I first met (he's unequivocally a cat person) and only became a cat person a few years ago when I adopted my first cat.

  18. I wish my cats liked each other. They have all three lived together for 12 years, and the two youngest are littermates and they still hate each other. Aside from the recent time they sat side by side for a mouse, they don't EVER share a space.

  19. I understand that cats tend to be more individualistic. The animals getting along is so important to me (which I know is silly given their natures had it been otherwise). That first week or two when Parker wasn't taking to Anya was so difficult. I was miserable. LOL

  20. Aw, they're so adorable! I love that last photo- they look so relaxed and content. :)

  21. Hi, Nat! They've taken to sitting together like that often now. It must be a comfortable spot.
