Friday Fill Ins: A Little Help From a Friend

Anya is in her thinking box. She's volunteered to help me with this week's Friday Fill Ins.

1. The last meal I had at a restaurant was an Islands' teriyaki chicken sandwich. And thank you, Islands, for not skimping on the teriyaki sauce!

2. Ticks, potholes, and people who abuse children are some of the things I intensely dislike.

3. The full moon is a sure sign that we'll have an extra busy day at the office.

4. "No" is one of my favorite local expressions. I have this bad habit of saying no any time someone at work asks if they can ask me a question (yes, I know it's annoying). Maybe one day someone will actually believe me.

5. Sometimes it's best to keep my mouth shut.

6. The Dark Knight is the best movie I've seen so far this year!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to watching the Olympic Games and catching up on my blog reading; tomorrow my plans include immersing myself in a book; and Sunday, I want to put on my comfy clothes, settle in on the couch with book in hand and spend the day lost in another world! I'm having an unofficial read-a-thon.

After all that hard work, Anya decides it's time for a nap. What better pillow than Anjin's foot?

  4. Our #5s are pretty much the same idea stated differently!

No movie just yet... still waiting for someone to turn off his videogame!

  5. What a cutie cat! I'm sure she was lots of help. Your Sunday sounds wonderful - that's what I want to do, too!

  6. I enjoyed watching Dark Knight too...

Are you enjoying the Summer Olympic so far? Which games are you intereted to watch or looking forward to watch? I've enjoyed watching the swimming (wow Michael Phelps did great job in reaching the goal) and gymnastic. I'm looking forward to the beach volleyball final...

I hope you have a good weekend!

  7. Janet - The Dark Knight was so good! I hope to see it again before it leaves the theater.

Ladybug - She is a sweetie. At least when she's not scratching my hand to a bloody pulp. Haha I hope you have a great weekend too.

Alison - I want to try and work my way through The Toss of a Lemon some more. It's a big one and I have a ways to go yet. I hope you have a great weekend too!

Christina - Great minds think alike. :-) I know all about waiting for that video game to be turned off! Hopefully your someone will think to do it soon.

Joy - She didn't last long in the box. She's more of a hands on helper, I think. :-)

Julia - Phelps is doing an amazing job. I was pleased to see him win his 7th event tonight. I've been watching quite a few different sports, mostly though what the network shows in primetime since that's when I get to watch. I've been watching the gymnastics and swimming mostly, along with the beach volleyball. Today I got the chance to watch a little badminton and tennis. I'm looking forward to many of the track and field events which are just starting to get underway.

I hope you have a good weekend too!

  8. I haven't seen Dark Knight - looks a bit scary - little Anya did a great job and deserves her cat nap :)

I watched the Phelps race today - he did a great job and a well deserved win - and our Aussie got a bronze so a win win situation :)

  10. No one ever believes me when I say no either, Wendy! It's 5 AM, I have a crockpot started, I'm just about to get ready for work, and then I'm going to come home and read in the pool--as usual. Have a great weekend!

  11. I like the fries and the soft tacos at Islands. I have to make sure I don't go there very often.

In your line of work, I don't doubt that #3 is true!

    Have a good weekend, Wendy!

  13. Sally - It is definitely a dark movie. Hubby and I are planning to go and see it again today.

Anya does earn her naps. :-)

It's such an amazing time for all the participants in the Olympics. I can't help but feel so proud and happy for all of them, regardless of the countries they are from, you know?

Alice - She is such a sweety!

Cathy - I'm not even smiling when I say no. I don't get it. Maybe if I said no and then actively ignored them . . . Haha

Your day sounds lovely, Cathy! I wish we had a pool on days like this.

Florinda - I usually order the soft tacos myself, but decided to try something a little different this time. :-) I hope you have a great weekend too.

Trish - I hope you have a great weekend too! I could watch Anya all day . . . She's such a cutie and so full of life. :-)

    Marie - Isn't she? She's great fun.

Nikki - Thanks! She takes after me that way. Just kidding. ;-)

  14. Hi Wendy =)

First, how much more adorable can a kiity be? She is so sweet and also growing.

I like #4, I need to learn to say NO! more often, instead I end up all stressed out.

Enjoy your read-a-thon, I think i will give myself one to :)))))

  15. So far this year I would say M. Night Shyamalan's movie, The Happening, has been my favorite. It was so scary-good! I saw it in the theater by myself, then went and bought the movie's soundtrack. Whenever I listen to the music now, it really creeps me out!

  16. Anya is absolutely adorable! Don't you love how kittens find the greatest places to nap? I miss Henry being a kitten. *pouts*

  17. Those photos are simply too cute for words! What a little sweetie.

Ticks, potholes, and child abuse? Now that is a truly varied answer...

Have a good time with your mini-marathon!

  18. Sylvie - She's growing so fast! When she first came to live with us, she could stand in one hand and now she needs a little more support than that. I hope you are able to have your own read-a-thon. I didn't get as much reading done today as I had hoped. :-(

LK - I really want to see The Happening, but didn't get a chance while it was in the theater. I love M. Night Shyamalan's movies. He's so talented.

Monica - She's a sweety! I'm amazed at how quickly she goes to sleep! She'll be bouncing all around and the next thing I know, she's fast asleep, straight out of a jump. :-)

CJ - I've been taking a lot of photos of her, I admit. I thought it might be fun to record her growth. :-)

Potholes was my husband's idea since I was complaining about them the other day.

  19. I definitely hate people who are abusive, especially to the elderly, children and animals!

Anya is such a sweetie! I especially love the pic with her sleeping... so cute and so precious! I hope you've a great weekend, Wendy!

  20. Melody - I do too! Abusive people make me very angry. :-(

Anya though makes me very happy. She's playing with my foot right now. :-)

  21. Debi - She's great fun. I was just sitting here staring at my dog. He's so adorable when he's asleep (and awake). :-)

  22. Beautiful, beautiful kitty. Sometimes I want more but then I don't think I have the energy and two is enough!

  23. What better place to nap?

  24. She is such a cutie. Both of ours just love boxes! :)

  25. Rhinoa - I don't think I have the energy for any more than my three furkids either. They wear me out!

Carrie - Hubby's foot does make a good pillow. :-)

Nat - She and Parker are big fans of boxes, that's for sure.
