Friday Fill-Ins #9

Janet posted the Friday Fill-In's just in time!

1. I enjoy a good book more than anything else. (Well, maybe spending the day with my husband is much more preferable, but I like it when I can do both at the same time. )
2. Blogging satisfies my need for feeling like a part of a community.
3. When I look at a full moon, I feel that it's going to be one of those crazy days at work.
4. If I want a snack, I usually reach for a 100-calorie pack of toasted wheat thins.
5. The most recent movie I saw was Enchanted, and it made my Thanksgiving feel especially festive .
6. If only my dog wasn't feeling so poorly right now.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to eating a piece of that cranapple pie (which hubby is serving up right this very minute!), tomorrow my plans include taking the dog to the vet first thing in the morning, and Sunday, I want to laze around the house, read, and catch up on this past week's TV shows!

  1. Wendy, how's your doggie feeling right now? I hope it's nothing major. Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Oh, I hope your dog is on the way to recovery. I'm going through this with my own dog and I know how stressful and heartbreaking it is. Keep us posted.

(And what a good hubby to serve you up a nice piece of pie!)

  3. Sorry to hear your dog isn't feeling well. I hope he's better soon.
    That cranapple pie sounds scrumptious!

  4. Melody - He's hanging in there. He had a rough night at first, but settled down some finally. He ate a little chicken early this morning and seems to be holding it down. We'll see. It's probably a virus or something. I hope you have a great weekend too!

Libby - Thank you! I am so sorry your dog isn't well either. Let's hope they are feeling like their old selves soon.

My husband is good that way. :-)

Tanabata - Thanks so much! The pie was very good. I wish there was more of it.

  6. I hope your dog will recover soon, Wendy! My Saturday was ok, I'm planning to go bookshopping tomorrow, hehe (if nothing changes!). Anyway, I think I better sign off now since it's almost 1.30am. ;)

  7. Mmmm. Cranapple pie rocks!

Hope your doggie continues to improve throughout the weekend. :) It's hard to see them sick like that.

  8. I'm totally in agreement with you about #2.

I'm sorry that your dog's not doing too well - hope he's feeling better by now. I know how stressful it is when canine children aren't their cold-nosed, tail-wagging selves.

  10. Janet - Thanks for the well wishes. The vet gave him some medicine for the nausea and put him on antibiotics for the time being. Hopefully he'll be back to his usual self soon.

Melody - Thanks so much. We had a blood panel taken and will have the results back on Monday. We're hoping it all comes back clear and that this is just a passing illness.

I wish I could go with you on your book shopping trip!

JMC - This was my first time having cranapple pie, and it sure was good.

And thank you for the well wishes for my dog. Since he started the meds, he's even more himself. He is also starting to get his appetite back, but I can't feed him until tomorrow because he's supposed to be fasting. It's hard to say no to him.

Florinda - Thank you! It really is hard seeing him so lethargic and out of sorts and knowing he's in pain. I'm glad he's finally feeling a little better. :-)

    Nymeth - Thank you!

  12. Hope your dog is feeling better, Wendy!

We had a sick kid on Thanksgiving and when I took her to the doctor yesterday found out she's got strep throat. Poor thing. But she's on antibiotics and we're heading to see Enchanted tomorrow. Was it good?

  13. Merri - Thanks for the well wishes. The pie was delicious. I wish it wasn't all gone. :-(

Karen - Thank you so much. I am sorry your daughter is sick too. Strep throat is definitely no fun. I hope she's feeling better soon and that you enjoy Enchanted. It's a fun movie. I liked it quite a bit.

  15. I hope it's just an upset tummy and nothing else. Hopefully you find that out tomorrow for sure.

Better Enchanted than I'm Not There. I'm about to see Enchanted by myself at this rate.

  16. Tara - I hope you both enjoy it! I left feeling very happy--and even a little empowered as a woman, if you can believe it. LOL

Carrie K - I am hoping for that too, and that the test results come back negative.

If I lived closer, I'd go with you to see Enchanted!
